I think I tried to recreate this Indepencence Day scene last year. For those who missed it, this was back in the early, early '90's, 'round about '91 or '92, I think. I had parked with several others in the middle of a bridge over the Mississippi River, all the landside spaces having been filled already. It afforded an incredible once-in-a-lifetime spectacle. Nothing could quite beat the sight of brilliant red sparks spread over half the night sky as the thunderous crack echoed from shores a mile apart... |
